In order to get ready for an upcoming tour of some of the local distillerys, we decided to put some bourbon in our roast...you will love this!
What you will need...
- 3 lbs of your choice of roast cut
- 1 can of beef broth
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of your choice of bourbon
- 1 to 2 tbsps Worcestershire
- 3 onions, cut
- 3 cloves of garlic, smashed but left whole to remove
- salt and pepper
- bourbon pepper blend (thanks to my aunt for getting this for my bday! you could subsitute any blend of peppercorns really)
In a crockpot, pour in the broth, water, bourbon, Worcestershire, some onion pieces, and the garlic cloves. Put the beef in the liquid. Pat the top of the beef dry with a paper towel, season the crockpot with salt and pepper, and cover the top of the roast with the bourbon pepper blend. Roast on low for about 9 hours...YUM-OLA!!!
Sides to think about...great with maple mashed sweet potatoes and any cooked green veggie.
