Flank Steak in a Flash

We had a marinated flank steak at our wedding that was so amazing, we have wanted to give it a try ever since.  So, we gave it a shot.  This recipe is a quick marinated flank steak, with the marinade being along the lines of your typical steak flavor...

What you will need...
  • 1 to 1.5 lbs of flank steak
  • 2 to 3 tbsps oil (we used olive oil but would try vegetable oil next time to get a better color on the steak)
  • 1/4  to 1/2 cup beer (we used Yuengling...sooo good!)
  • 1/4  to 1/2 cup Worcestershire
  • 1/8 to 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • steak seasoning (enough to cover both sides of the steak well)
In a gallon baggie, mix the oil, beer, Worcestershire, water, and garlic powder.  Season both sides of the steak and add the steak to the baggie.  Set aside to marinate for a few minutes.  Heat your grill pan on the stove to get it super duper hot.  When the pan is hot, place the flank steak on it, and let the first side get a nice brown color on it, which is about 7 minutes.  Flip the steak and cook for about 5 minutes on the second side, spooning a bit of the marinade over the top.  Remove the steak from the grill pan and let rest on your cutting board for a few minutes.  Cut very very thin slices across the grain...YUM-OLA!!!
Note:  keep leftover slices of meat in the marinade to keep it moist.

Sides to think about...great with red potatoes and broccoli.  Just microwave your potatoes and steam your veggies for quick sides.

How many people can eat...should feed 5 to 8 people, depending on how many sides and how many meat lovers you have at your table.
