KY Bourbon Beef

In order to get ready for an upcoming tour of some of the local distillerys, we decided to put some bourbon in our roast...you will love this!

What you will need...
  • 3 lbs of your choice of roast cut
  • 1 can of beef broth
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of your choice of bourbon
  • 1 to 2 tbsps Worcestershire
  • 3 onions, cut
  • 3 cloves of garlic, smashed but left whole to remove
  • salt and pepper
  • bourbon pepper blend (thanks to my aunt for getting this for my bday!  you could subsitute any blend of peppercorns really)
In a crockpot, pour in the broth, water, bourbon, Worcestershire, some onion pieces, and the garlic cloves.  Put the beef in the liquid.  Pat the top of the beef dry with a paper towel, season the crockpot with salt and pepper, and cover the top of the roast with the bourbon pepper blend.  Roast on low for about 9 hours...YUM-OLA!!!

Sides to think about...great with maple mashed sweet potatoes and any cooked green veggie.
